I decided to dig in and do some more agent research and through a series of internet surfing events ended up on\u00c2\u00a0<a title=\"Jim Butcher's site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jim-butcher.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jim Butcher&#8217;s site<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0On his\u00c2\u00a0<a title=\"About Jim\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jim-butcher.com\/jim\/\">&#8220;About Jim&#8221; page<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0he has a section titled &#8220;How&#8217;d Jim Get Published&#8221; that contains the most honest and delightful tale of any writer&#8217;s journey I&#8217;ve ever read.\u00c2\u00a0At the end he shares this:\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'; font-size: 13px; line-height: normal; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px\">Here&#8217;s the secret of how to get published: keep going.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He goes on to say:\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'; font-size: 13px; line-height: normal; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px\">&#8220;Keep trying when the guy next to you quits in disgust. Keep writing when the girl next to you sobs and throws her manuscripts into the fire. Keep conducting yourself like a professional, and you&#8217;ll get someone to believe that you are one.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'; font-size: 13px; line-height: normal; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px\">If you&#8217;re lucky, maybe even yourself.&#8221;<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some days it just pays to keep going. Especially when the rewards are like this one.
